We were contacted by a company calling itself "Vela International (Pty) Ltd".
They claimed (initially to be) an IT Company, however when we phoned back they claimed to be an import export company.

They were looking for a quote and being supplied 10 Laptops to the value of R116,000

The details they gave were:

Office Number: 011-487-3069
Location: Based in Upper Houghton JHB

The office number just rings. It is registered (through Telkom to some kind of meat market).

The office number turns out to be mentioned on mybroadband.co.za as a scam from a company called Mumba Technologies. Which has also caught a few people before.

There is no VAT number registered for the company and searches on SARS / Cipro find nothing for PTY LTD's. However searches for CC's find 3 companies.

Our auditors suggest that multiple search results suggest that the guys have a back way into SARS (?) and have been able to add multiple companies to their registry (which should not normally happen).

What do we do next ?
