Default Oh, no, I pissed one of the scammers off! :)

Apparently, they really don't like it when you insult them. I received THIS reply after I sent my canned message-- frankly, baiting these scammers is a good deal of fun, and if anyone wants to try my method, go ahead. I also urge EVERYONE, as soon as they get a scammer's message, to write them a similar letter to mine, then send their e-mail, with full header attached, to either abuse@hotmail.com if they're using a Hotmail account, or abuse@yahoo.com if they're using a Yahoo one-- invariably, scammers use one of the two free e-mail providers-- guess they don't know about Google's G-Mail or G-Mail is just better at keeping them off of the servers.

Following is the full message series-- from "her" response to my "insults", my response to "her" initial e-mail, and the initial e-mail. You can now tell that this "Roseline Amma" is totally a scammer, because nobody that was really seeking to transfer money would do something like what "she" did. Frankly, I think this is pretty hilarious.... she knows I got her, she knows she can't use Hotmail anymore because her account has been suspended, so what does she do, USES Yahoo!

Just received another reply from "her", here it is.

I can see that you don't have any work to do that is the reason why you have time to write all this bullshit in the name insult.

Melinda Harkema <mharkema@yahoo.com> a écrit : We both know a simple truth—that you are not in fact who you say you are, and that this e-mail to me is an attempt to defraud myself of money. I also find it quite amazing that this exact e-mail that you’ve sent me is on a well-known “Nigerian 419” scam watchlist, word for word, everything except for your latest e-mail address the same. Perhaps you don’t know the law, that you’re ignorant of the fact that this is a crime not only here in the United States, but no doubt in the country you’re REALLY in though of course the authorities of your country are as completely crooked as you yourself are. Perhaps you think that Westerners are all “stupid” and that’s why you’re sending this out en masse. Apparently you do believe that I’m ignorant enough to fall for it, which of course is NOT the case, as I belong to several of the aforementioned scam watchlists and know to watch for your kind. The website you got my e-mail address from specifically asked that those that are perpetuating the scam that you’re attempting to pull NOT write me, which leads me to believe you’re completely ignorant in addition to being completely inconsiderate. What you have done by ignoring my wishes means that you are now engaged in a second (or third) crime—that of harassment. You have also violated the policy of your ISP and e-mail provider, so yes, after sending this to you, I have forwarded your initial e-mail to that provider for them to take action against you.

I haven’t always had xenophobic ideas, but it seems everyone from Africa is a scammer such as yourself, and so far, all that have ever written me from the whole continent have been cut from the same dirty, smelly cloth as you are, which is a sad thing. I had high hopes of meeting someone from the African continent that was actually someone worth knowing and defied the stereotype, but so far, all are like you, and as a result, useless to know.

NEVER write me again, under any circumstances, with any e-mail address or via any other method. I WILL NOT help you in your fraudulent schemes, and I will report any and all e-mails, including this one, to the proper authorities, including but not limited to the United States Customs Service’s Anti-Fraud Task Force, the FBI’s Computer Crimes Unit, as well as your ISP/e-mail provider.

You are not due ANY respect, because you have disrespected my wishes. Thank God you have a Yahoo address, because I can and will be reporting you to them for using their e-mail in an illegal fashion.

Talking The truth of the identity

Well, the scammer has finally admitted that they are not a "Mrs. Roseline Amma" as referenced by this last e-mail to me (scroll down, the header info is also posted), and that they are, in fact, a "married man". Obviously the mental accuity of some of these individuals is not as great as they think!

NEVER WRITE ME AGAIN. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL. You have CROSSED THE BOUNDARIES NOW INTO HARASSMENT.

Vous ne compriez anglais? I said NOT TO WRITE ME EVER AGAIN. FROM ANY ACCOUNT. You're right, I DON'T KNOW YOU. And would NEVER want to know you, because you're rude and impolite. When someone says, "please do not write me ever again", the NORMAL thing to do would be to NOT write, EVER AGAIN. Capiche? Good help to me? Like you ever could be. You live in poverty, you're just a scammer, and you could never help me with anything. BTW, you can now find yourself on the 419 Legal-Fraud and Scam website.... FYI, Roseline Amma is a WELL KNOWN scammer name-- if you had any cerebral power, you would have Googled that name first and saw that "she" pops up on dozens of servers for perpetrating, what else, but 419 scams.

I know you're online now. Which is a good thing, it allows Yahoo France to trace your IP address and remotely shut down your account that much easier.

Wouldn't it be better to leave the bad spelling and grammar as it is? If you point these things out to them, surely we're actually helping them to improve their script, and making them more believable?

Default Point taken, but...

I don't think they ever listen to anything anyone says. You can tell SOME scammers to leave you the @#$% alone, and next day, they're right back up in your business sending you the same tired tripe... with the same bad English, with the same horrible grammar. Scammers don't care, is my frank opinion. You could tell them all the things they do wrong, and I doubt they'd change anything.

For the regular 419 scammer it does little good to shut down their email account. Also many scammers use different email addresses to send and recieve replies so closing their spamming account does nothing to stop their activities. They will have a new one open in ten minutes and another 10,000 scam emails sent. It's much better to bait them and waste their time. Make them spend hours filling out worthless forms rather than spending ten minutes opening a new email account.

An exception is fake cell phone sellers. They need to seed their email addresses around the internet so shutting their email address down ruins a lot of their work.

I have been playing with wilson Banny The Banque Atlantique Scam, for about 3 weeks now..I am just trying to see how dumb these people really are.. Ive come to the conclusion..pretty dumb..I will post my excerpts when he finally figures out Im messing with him.. I agree, its better to keep them occupied and its fun too.. another thing you can do is, open an account with thier name in another email provider, this will prevent them from re surfacining under the same name but different provider. Also, then you can spam them.. most emails get filled with 5 megs.. just send a few big files every few days.. that will prevent them from recieveing emails for a little while..

regards..

I do not agree to be in contact with scams it is extremelly dangerous.
Read relative post in main page about dangers from such scams.
Never follow their logic creating accounts with their names. They open new accounts under different names always fake.
Also many providers offer unlimited accounts (like yahoo).
The best advice is to report them to your country's law enforcement people giving full details
