Default Is Invention Home a fraud?

I contacted Invention Home Invention Home (Jacob Enterprise) - Inventor & company services to develop an idea into a product line. because I just got an idea about making a product to help people quit smoking. They asked me for the cost of patent check fee which is $319.00 US. After that for 2 weeks, I got the report from another organization name which they claim to be US Patent Agent, reported that so far no body think of it, and with some other patents that's relate to but not the same with my idea. However, the report does not have anything stamp from USPTO.

I called Invention Home to consult about writing the patent to file. They would charge me a lot more if I let them do all the work, or lower cost I want to work with them. I want the second one because I got my idea to cover any other product that will be similar. I want to know all the costs that they will charge me so I can prepare, then they guy didn't hear my voice, then it's disconnected. I called back and he answered, as soon as I say something, then disconnected. I called back so many time again but now there's no more automatic reception system, but just the ring on and on, no body answer. the number is 1866-THINK-12 I'm afraid, whether I got the fraud, or they see my idea can make a lot of money, so they just deny me. What should I do? However, I should keep trying to contact them, maybe it's just the phone system problem.

Default Contact BBB

Hi Toniol, a search reveals that a company with the same name is in fact a member of the Better Business Bureau, and is a member in good standing.
I would invest a phone call to BBB and check out that the details you have are correct, if so, they may be able to assist you in getting a proper reply!

If not then they have a complains section you can lodge a complaint with!
The details of the company are on the link here!

The Better Business Bureau National Information System

I have sent you a private message with a tip to protect your invention, so you can rest easy knowing that your interests are protected!

Default inventionhome.com is a real scam company - Beware

Inventionhome.com A.K.A. Jacob Enterprises crooks at inventionhome.com Liars at Inventionhome.com, scam, crooks, liars and cons Monroeville Pennsylvania

The Original Ripoff Report Text:
I only want to say that Invention Home (Jacob Enterprise) - Inventor & company services to develop an idea into a product line. is a rip off company. They claim that they will patent your idea and market your idea and so on, with sugar on top and so on. They claim they will do so much for a mere 25% of the profit,,,, "Bull Sh#t! After they got done screwing me I was out more than $3,000.00. No matter what they tell you, stay away from Inventionhome.com, A.K.A. Jacob Enterprises. In their agreement it states they will not do a complete patent search. They are the prime example of a scam company ever!!! Let it be known that people with inventions do not need these companies as they only take your money and do very little for it. If they do anything they may mail out some pamphlets to a company who will throw it directly into the trash!!! The truth is a company will not even look at an invention submitted by someone other than the inventor, they feel as if you don't have enough confidence and excitement about your invention, why should they even bother? Inventionhome.com is a joke and a rip off and I lost a lot of money on my invention which was already patent pending by someone else, but they told me it was not! They did not do a good patent search and I got screwed. Please use a patent lawyer or Agent and stay away from companies like Invention Home (Jacob Enterprise) - Inventor & company services to develop an idea into a product line. A.K.A Jacob Enterprises you will only get screwed no mater how good it seems. Devin Fremont, California
U.S.A.

My name is Russell Williams and I am the president of InventionHome.com.

I am responding to a negative posting about our company under the name Devin Freemont. Please know that this is a bogus and false posting. The person responsible for these false comments has never been an InventionHome.com customer. Unfortunately, this person has posted the same comments on other blog sites using a different name and geographic location.

InventionHome takes customer satisfaction very seriously and our business model for helping inventors is very different from invention companies. Although, we do offer fee-based services (that are optional), we do not charge up front fees for our efforts to market the invention. We ask for a % of the royalty only if we succeed, which means the inventor is not locked into an agreement with us. Secondly, we utilize a very streamlined approach for working with companies, which we have branded “Hotlinks by InventionHome” as well as our iShowOnline marketplace. We have over 3,500 companies (and growing) in our network that utilize us as a source for innovation and we are endorsed by several industry organizations.

InventionHome has a stellar reputation and we welcome any inventor to evaluate our approach. Furthermore, they can verify our record by visiting the United States Patent and Trademark and Better Business Bureau websites. Unfortunately the website won't allow me to post the links to both sites.

Finally, if Mr. Freemont who drafted this communication is a real person, I invite him to contact me directly to discuss at 866-844-6512.

Best regards.

i am currently using invention home, and i am very satisfied....i have a product that i have been selling, and they found a manufacturer for me within 2 weeks of posting my product in their system...they have been very responsive, easy to get a hold of...and they have a great communication system which updates me on the status of my product via email...yes, they do take a percentage, but that's what you are signing up for when you contact an agent....lizzie00
