Default Don't give out personal information

I think that scammers are getting more sophisticated and that we need to be careful about giving anyone personal information. There is so much information available to anyone these days that if you give anyone some of your personal information they may be able to pursue identity theft. I don't think we have to worry about scammers having just bank information anymore.
I found this site because I've started getting a ton of letter that say they got my information from CareerBuilder. The letters have typos and poor grammar and all appear to be scams. But I'm not seeing anyone talking about that anywhere online.
I'm really glad there are sites like this where people can get together and share such information.

Yes they are everywhere online these days and their networks have become much more sophisticated in the modalities that they use to carry out their scams. They can be found on the online employment sites such as Careerbuilder, MonsterDotCom, and Craigslist. There are many of them lurking around the fringes of auction sites like Ebay with check scams and phishing attempts to get your account login details. Even placing a classified ad in your local newspaper is no longer safe from the scammers, as many newspapers are now available online.

Dear sir/ma,
Please permit me to write you irrespective of the fact we have not met
before.
I got your contact through network online hence I decided to write you. I
would be very interested in offering you a part-time paying job in which
you could earn a lot.

Getting an accountant in the states or opening an account would have been
my best choice but I have a deadline to meet and taking any of those
choices would cost me time and a whole lot of other requirements, which I
am not ready to deal with. That is where i need your assistant and
service.

WHAT I NEED YOU FOR?
You will be working as my payment assistant in charge of collecting and
processing the payments from the Associates.

JOB DESCRIPTION?
1. Receive payment (inform of money orders/checks) from My
Clients/Associates.
2. Cash the Payments at your Bank
3. Deduct 10%, which will be your percentage/pay on Payment processed.
4. You will then forward the balance via Money Gram or Western Union Money
Transfer according to my instruction.

ADVANTAGES?
You don't have to go out of your present daily activity in order to engage
in this Job (i.e. you can do this Work easily without leaving or affecting
your present Job). You will work as an independent contractor right from
your home /office. Your job is absolutely legal. You do not need any
capital to start(non of your personal funds is needed).

REQUIREMENTS?
18 years or older.
Legally capable.
Responsible, Reliable and Trustworthy
Ready to work 3-4 hours per week.
Able to check and respond to emails often.
Easy telephone access.

IS THIS LEGAL?
Yes it is. As a matter of fact, my lawyer checked all legal provisions to
know if there is any domestic or international law against businesses or
deals in this manner. And he said its
allowed by all LAWS. So know that doing this work is safe and legitimate.
Guess all
is well understood,I would be glad if you accept my proposal.

Mail me if you are interested. Please reply with the details stated below:

These people sent me 4 bad money orders to cash @ 950.00 each and immediately transfer funds to them by western union to Kuala Lampur.

The checks turned out to be issued on KMART money orders that were already issued 3 months earlier for amount less than the face value on them.

The banks have confirmed that they were not valid money orders and are totally worthless! The United States Secret Service locally has had several people in to see them that have sent over thousands of dollars to them.

The money orders were sent form SAnta Rosa , CA by a person other than who's name appeared on the face of the checks and at a different address, There is no such person listed in any directory who appears on the check or who appears on the fed ex envelope.

They are quite persistent in htere follow up calls to verify that you send out real funds to them to pay them back there money, less your percentage, when actually you are reasponsible to the bank who cashes there bad money orders, and when discovered you must pay them back out of your pocket. If you withdraw any of the funds, since there were no funds behind these money orders which were never actally issued according to the source of the money orders themself, then you become responsible for the money sent out to these scam artists ! Watch Out , Be Forewarned !

To refund money back to the bank is the less. Bank will sue you for fraud action (returning or not total amount of fake checques) and the money is the minimum that you will loose. Keep all evidences to proove that you are scammed.
