Default Verdier Gill Scam

This week I recieved an inquirey to an aircraft I have for sale. The contact name was Verdier Gill. He asked me for information on the plane and I replied etc. He said he would like to purchase it and that he would make a wire transfer the following day. The next day I recieved an e-mail with a computer fabricated certificat of transfer from the BANK of AFRICA in Abidjan.

The name Gerome Diecket as the signing Banker.

I was asked to pay taxes of 1500 euros by western Union. Supposedly I was to be contacted by a member of an audit transfer board to give me the data for the transfer. This never happened as I told him I would talk to my bank the following day and he immediatly told me to call him. I became quite suspicious and checked out scams on the internet and found the same name and phone number in another scenario.

Concerning your 1998 Lancair 360 MKII EC-YSB as advertised on PlaneCheck.

Verdier,

Today in Spain is National holiday and all banks and post office are closed. However tomorrow morning i will talk with my bank about these taxes. It would be best that your Audit board can speak with my bank tomorrow.

Jeffrey ,

I received your email, but I have just received a call and an email of the Audit Board of the transfers of AFRICA .

The taxes that I must pay is of 1800 euros and the taxes that you must pay is of 1500 euros.

I leave now to the Post office, to carry out a Western Union mandate of 1800 euros at the Audit Board for the payment of my tax.

Make in the same way and goes now to the Post office to carry out a Western Union Mandate of 1500 euros for the payment of your tax.

I had said yesterday that there were taxes to pay, it to you is because of that I added 2000 euros to the transfer.

when we will pay the taxes and that the transfer will be resolved, you will be able to recover your 1500 euros with the reception of the money on your account .

Call me if possible : +225 02 ...

Kindly

Verdier GILL

MY DEAR JEFFREY ,

I ORDERED MY BANK TO MAKE YOU ON YOUR ACCOUNT A TRANSFER OF 92 000 EUROS THIS MORNING. SO I SEND YOU THE LETTER OF CONFIRMATION OF TRANSFERT BY EMAIL. BUT MY MANAGER OF ACCOUNT SAYS TO ME THAT THE INVESTIGATION AUDIT BOARD OF TRANSFERS OF THE AFRICA ZONE WILL COME INTO CONTACT WITH YOU AND ME BY TRANSMITTING A LETTER TO US AND THAT THERE WOULD BE ALSO TAXES TO PAY CONCERNING THE TRANSFER.

WE MUST DISCHARGE TAXES MUTUALLY. THUS I TELLS TO MY BANKER THAT I WANT TO PAY YOUR TAXES DIRECTLY BUT HE SAYS ME THAT WAE CANNOT PROCESS ON THIS WAY, AND THAT IT IS NECESSARY THAT YOU SAME PAYS YOUR TAXES, THEREFORE I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY OF THIS TAXES YET. SO I HAVE ADDED TO THE TRANSFER THE AMOUNT OF 2000 EUROS (FROM WHERE THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF 92000 EUROS THAT I TRANSFERRED YOU INSTEAD OF 90 000 EUROS) OF KIND TO BE ABLE TO FILL THIS LOAD. IF THE TAX THAT ONE ASKS YOU TO PAY EXCEED NOT THE 2000 EUROS, PLEASE REFUND ME REMAINDER WHEN I ARRIVE IN SPAIN WHEN I WILL COME TO TAKE THE PLANE.

PLEASE RECONTACT ME A THE RECEPTION OF MY MAIL CONSIDERING THE URGENCY: +225 02 55 89 18

CORDIALLY
VERDIER GILL

If anyone would like more information please contact me.

Jeffrey
