I' new to this forum but to start of I would really like to know about the mail titled "MICROSOFT AND AOL PROMOTION WORLD LOTTERY 2008". Is this for real or just a scam. and following is the text written in it. Welcome to thi forum. Of cource is scam such mail that comes from a free mail with mentioned phone number a moblie from South Africa stated that you "won" in a non existing lottery. Use the "search" tool to find dozens of similar letters some of them may be from the same sender.

Do you really believe that Microsoft Corporation just decided to HAND you 1 million pounds?
Remember, if it sounds too good to be true...it is! Lotteries are in the business of MAKING money, not just giving it away. If you didn't buy a lottery ticket, you can't win a lottery. Simple as that.

I believe that Mercenary simply misunderstood what I was saying in the post above.
There is a very old saying here in America (and other English-speaking countries): "If it sounds too good to be true - it IS!" The point of the saying is that if it sounds to good to be true, then it probably IS too good to be true - meaning, IT'S NOT TRUE. I wouldn't want anyone to think that I am suggesting they should be attempting anything through a scam. Scammers play on people's trusting nature. So just to be clear... IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THAT MEANS IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, SO DON'T DO IT! Does that make things clearer?

I felt that clarification was important, as I certanily wouldn't want anyone to think that I was suggesting anyone should believe a scam. I'm a SCAM FIGHTER, not a SCAM LOVER!
