Model Scams
Modeling scams count on the flattery (or vanity) of their victims and their parents in order to pull their con-job, and rely on the widespread desire for fame and fortune. The scammers make their money by selling expensive photo packages or holding auditions for talent scouts from multiple agencies (where you’re unlikely to see anyone from big-named firm) in which it costs to participate.
This fraud relies on high-pressure sales tactics that don’t give participants any time to think about the constantly mounting fees, or how unlikely it is that they’ve been “discovered”. It is especially common to focus on children, as parents rarely have a realistic perspective on the attractiveness of their children.
It isn’t really difficult to avoid theses Model Scam. Just stop and think. Bear in mind, for example, that the expensive photo packages are not the normal way for aspiring models to create a models portfolio.
