Psychic Letter Scam
Targets of the psychic letter scam get a letter in the mail offering to tell their future. It maybe personally addressed or offer to protection from evil presences. These letters might even be threatening, designed to intimidate targets by promising that bad things will happen if the target fails to respond.
The following language is common:
• Somebody wishes you ill!
• A witch has cast a spell on you!
• You are the victim of a curse!
• Spiritual powers to remove all problems forever!
• I GUARANTEE that you will receive an enormous amount of money!
• I can destroy real black magic and get rid of evil spirits forever!
The letter usually contains endorsements saying that these psychic readings changed their lives. Then they ask for money.
Just don’t respond. Don’t be intimidated by any threats in the letter. We promise, these scam artists have no magic powers and nothing they can do will mystically harm you.
