If you had ordered and were waiting for your iPhone from iPhonenow.ca, you had better call RCMP Now!

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has bad news for you. It believes people who had ordered for iPhones from iPhonenow.ca maybe in trouble. They think the website is a scam and allege that the website has no intention of fulfilling paid orders for 12,000 iPhones it solicited for online.

RCMP had started investigating the company after receiving complaints from many buyers about non-delivery of phones. It also seemed to have made considerable headway when it linked the site to a convicted felon and arrested him along with one other person. It later released both suspects without pressing charges but clarified that the investigations on the company and the individuals are still on.

Joshua Trousdale, who was one of the two persons arrested in this connection by RCMP, has a rueful online presence. He is said to be the man behind many website scams including some phishing ones. The latest was a similar scam involving the sale of PlayStation 2 modules but with him under a different name. Online reports also allege links with child pornography and a conviction record, resulting from being sent to prison for four months for possession of obscene material.

iPhones were sold at iPhonenow.ca, with price tags ranging from $550 to $900. The website featured advertisements prominently on TV during the last Christmas season. But right now, the site is no longer online. It also has stopped taking phone calls.

RCMP has appealed to the general public to bring to their notice any correspondence they might have had with the company. You can get in touch with them through PhoneBusters (at 888-495-8501) or through the website www.recol.ca.
