Work from home dream job invites trouble for Iowa woman

Alexis Duncan, from Des Moines, Iowa, is under investigation by Polk County officials because of a work from home job offer she took up online. Duncan picked up the job after answering an online advertisement by a company calling itself Lithutronics.
The job was simple. The company, self-stated to be based in Lithuania, would send her packages. Duncan had to receive the consignments and then send it in turn to other addresses specified by the company. It was ready to pay her $20 for every package she managed to send across. The package usually consisted of higher-end electronic items. On the face of it, therefore, everything would seem above board.
Before she knew it, Duncan had helped send across 35 to 50 packages in her new found job.
Knowingly or unknowingly, however, Duncan had become part of a scam.
The expensive items she was helping to deliver were all bought online using stolen credit cards. She was, therefore, actually assisting online thieves by sending across goods they stole online, to their associates.
The scam was probably discovered when owners of the stolen cards noticed transactions in their account statements which they could not account for. They might have lodged a complaint and this might have sparked off an investigation. The trail would inevitably lead to people like Duncan who end up being accused of helping fraudsters run an international scam.
Authorities believe the scam to be the handiwork of criminals with links to the Russian Mafia.

I would like to see more “real” work from home jobs. We see all these that are bad or wrong. Then lets post some real ones for those people who need it most. I am looking for a stay at home job over the computer and all I see is bad advertisement. I want to see the state of Iowa take a better stand for the people that live in this state. Give us the good not the bad.
