Fraud Internet Sites Swindling Consumers
Scam artists are back to their original business . Banking and financial scams continues to grow world wide as financial and investment season is on rise . Taking the full advantage of this, fraudsters are too active and smart enough to trick the innocent people. Here is the good example of financial and banking scams.
There is word of caution for investors and financial firms as Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance is issuing warning against online internet scams that are targeting consumers by misleading false Omaha addresses.
Bennett Financial Group Highlights its address as “10665 Bedford St., “and Westmont Financial Group Marks its address as “8401 West Dodge Road”. Thus In fact both are fake and trying to dupe to the people with wrong address name .
Even they try to offer consumer loans and require a security pledged for the repayment of a loan thus before making loans .
While Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance officials confirms address are fraud trying to lure and trick the consumers, while advance payment of loan is banned in Nebraska. These two groups request for personal information like social security of bank account details on their loan applications confirms the sources .
The state is trying to shut down the two groups’ Web sites.
Department issues tips to prevent such scams :
1.Be aware that it is illegal in Nebraska to require an advance payment to qualify for a loan.
2.Avoid giving out credit card, bank account or Social Security numbers over the phone or via the Internet unless you are familiar with the company and know why it needs the information.
3.Make sure you know with whom you are dealing. Don’t be fooled by a seemingly familiar name, because scammers often pretend to be with a legitimate company.
4.-Report scams by calling the department’s consumer hot line at 877-471-3445. or visiting its Web site at www.ndbf.ne.gov.
