Scam Alert : Identity Thieves are using Economic Stimulus Plan as bait in their Scams.

Recently U. S president Barrack Obama has signed economic stimulus plan in dener, after Congress approved the $787bn (£548bn) package . U.S President termed this as most attractive recovery package in History.

The Plan is booster for economy for generating millions of job ,in fact a bold step for massive stimulus measure to divert federal money towards infrastructure projects, health care, renewable energy development and conservation pro grammes.

But What if this package is used by the scam artists to provoke the people , in order to pump their financial gain .Taking full advantages of federal policy , scam artists would not like to miss the opportunity to mess up the fraud figures . In fact they are now converting federal economic stimulus pla n to lure the people in order to mislead and trick them.

Thus these fraudsters are sending fake email representing as federal government .
While Small Business Administration(SBA) has witnessed such fake letters have been flashed , in name of SBA.

Misleading small-business owners they might be eligible for tax rebates under the stimulus plan. The letters promptly requests the business owners to send in bank account information.

On other note, US Computer Emergency Readiness Team warns of a fraudulent e-mail that appears to be coming from the Internal Revenue Service. It also asks recipients to fill out a form with their personal information.

These are nothing but leading examples of phishing scams, just trying to collect your numbering details like ,social security or credit card information etc.

In case if anybody receives Any Fake IRS e-mail attempting to steal your personal information, can be e-mail or reported to phishing@irs.gov.
If you received a suspicious SBA letter regarding the stimulus, it can be reported or e-mail OIGHotline@sba.gov.

Meanwhile people should visit Economic Stimulus Payment Information Center (www.irs.gov) for correct information and guidelines pertaining to any Stimulus Payment.
