Latest ATM Scam Decieves Senior Citizens
Scam artist are going hi tech with the latest ATM scam surfacing again . Say whatever the season might be ,going strong with investment and tax filling ,it seems seniors citizens are the latest and worst victims, with all time scam ratio figuring with new heights.
In the latest Example of Atm Scam in Northeast Philadelphia where elderly are the most and latest victims of ATM Scams. The scam is targeting local ATMs, and taking thousands of dollars.
With latest developments police have captured images from the surveillance tape and released the video of the tape at work.
Police believes that video will help them to crack down upon the scam artists who are victimizing senior citizens.
How video records all the scam process is worth interesting. Here the scam artist enters a local ATM and places device in the ATM card slot called a loop or a trap.
If any Elderly customer reaches and uses the ATM Service , the card is stuck.Eventually, the victim leaves and the thief returns to take the card.
In some or the other cases ,fraudsters are smart to take advantage by convincing tactics.
They ask for pin number or password and try with number of hits. Now the victim leaves with frustrated , but scam artists have both the things card and pin number .
They go make a withdrawal from a MAC machine and then, since it’s a debit card, they go on a shopping spree,” said one official.
Both incidents were at an ATM in the 7300 block of Frankford Avenue. Police are certain there are more victims.
