E -Crime Reporting Tool To Beat Scammers
Scammers Beaware ! In a latest and Significant developments, scam fighters a group dedicated to
defense phishing scams have developed a channel for police and other anti scam organizations to report e-crime in a most suitable text readable format via web browser or other application.
According to Peter Cassidy, secretary general of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG)
till yet ,there was no consistent and logical way to report and e crime thus posing challenges for
law enforcement and security organizations .
Besides lack of centralize reporting system ,it is hard to organize the complex data collected on cyber crime , he further adds.
There fore APWG decided to design a one package E-crime Reporting tool, which can beat the scammers finally.
APWG framed a terminal service system which can smoothly track and record Internet fraud and scams .
According to Cassidy ,What APWG Targets :
APWG would target reports should have absolute time stamp respect to filing reports.
-It should support different languages and browsers.
-It must be able to filter the types of scam and fraud.
-Support for attaching Malware & the company brand that was being attacked.
APWG was successful in implementing the XML-based Instant Object Description Exchange Format (IODEF), which is already used by the computer incident response teams to report adverse network events.
AS compared to earlier model ,existing model is easy to coordinate ,filter the reports instantly with less manual work ,can concentrate to specific crime ratio ,quickly share the database and responds to e-crime in an automated way ,said Cassidy , Thus will help to beat scammers with quick ratio.
