New Phone Scam brings concerns for Washington businesses
Scam never ends , and so are the defrauding tactics .With Tax filling gripping the season scammers are always there to target the innocents.
After international check scam ,now it turn for new phone scam making rounds .
According to latest updates as per Internal Revenue Service United States Department of the Treasury Accessibility or state department of Revenue Washington, there is concern for business sectors as latest on going phone scam can swindle their commercial activities.
Scam artists are representing themselves as revenue employees , calling commercial corporates, directing them to phony international number and charging them for call.
The fraud automated phone call replies that state Department of Revenue has been trying to reach the business in order to get the tax account details and further request to call 1-800-431-4028.
When the taxpayer calls that number, another recording prompts them to call 1015158000 and pay a charge of $5.49 plus undisclosed administrative fees.
A 101 number indicates an international call. Infact this whole process is scam to trick the callers and people should not fall to such scamming tactics warns Revenue Director Cindi Holmstrom.
