Presenting: All New Job Scams!!

Though it can be termed as one of the oldest scams, job scams or job-offer scams are now available in new packages. E-mails from scammers (mis)representing a legitimate multinational company or organization offering jobs (even in the present times of recession), have numerous links which guide the unsuspecting internet user to the scammer’s personal site. These scammers and sometimes hackers employ a dual tactic to dupe innocent unsuspecting people.
Not replying to the spam email does not guarantee safety, even opening such emails can automatically download a computer virus. This virus can then create a freeway which links your computer with the hacker’s computer, allowing the hacker to get whatever information they want.
Some of such ‘new’ job scams are easily recognized by the language and typos in the content. Job offers claiming to be from big organizations, offering management positions and to top it all requiring little or no education and experience, spill the beans for some scammers.
A reversal of the above mentioned type of job scam & a more smarter way is to send in e-mails informing people that they have been rejected for a job opening in a multinational due to some reason and that they are sending the job application back. This “application” is actually a malware which if accessed will establish a connection between the hacker’s computer and the victim’s computer.
These scammers and hackers are targeting the curiosity element present in every human mind. Success of such job scams or job-offer scams is particularly high in the present times of recession and job cuts.
The best way of avoiding such ‘new’ job scams is to NOT click on any links provided in any job related email. If one is unsure or does not recall applying to a particular organization, it is advisable not to open the email.
