Default Don't buy a Snuggie Blanket - "As Seen on TV"

My 7 yr old daughter really wants a Snuggie blanket that is constantly advertised on TV. It looks like a robe on backwards to me but, for two for only $19. I thought it was a good deal. I called the number this morning and placed an order, which took 13 minutes on the phone with a automated operator.
First they tried to trick me into buying 2 "sets" which means 4 total. But, I didn't fall for it and I knew from reading the website that I would be paying $8. in shipping for each blanket, not each set. So I should be at around $35. plus tax. I figured eventually I will get a chance to talk to a human to confirm that I will get it by Christmas. But, after placing the order I had to listen to offer after offer for other products. I waited because I wanted an order confirmation number. Finally they said "Thank You your order it will arrive in 4-6 weeks" and hung up. I couldn't believe it, 13 minutes later I still don't know what my total is and I definitely won't get it by Christmas. So I try to cancel. Well you call the customer service number on their site and it rings once and then they hang up on you. I called my bank since I charged it on my Visa Debit card they said they can only remove it once it has been charged and since they won't charge it until it is shipped I'm screwed. Because now that I have done research on the net about them I am finding everybody is getting screwed by these people, they can't return the product or get their money back, some people are getting bills for over a hundred dollars. Now the only thing I can do is cancel my Visa. What a pain in the ass for a stupid blanket. Which is really just a robe on backwards. I am going to just make her one myself.
Just wanted to save every one else. DON'T BUY A SNUGGIE!!!!
Thanks,
Karma19

Default Snuggie Blanket

Thanks for posting your feedback when purchasing a Snuggie. I was all set to buy one for my wife and am not going to do it now. I hope your issue is resolved with them!

Default more Snuggie problems

The web site is no better. It misleads you, after the first order screen, into thinking that you will be able to specify your "free" blanket's color. However the second order screen is actually an offer to order two more at $14.95 - although it never is actually telling you that you are ordering two more. And if you're not careful, the third screen would allow you to order two more at an additional price. Make sure that you click on "NO" for any screens after the first order screen. My stupid mistake for not checking the web first!

Snuggie Blankets (among other items) are distributed by:

Merchandise Direct and Fosdick corp, are the same company. 203-269-0211 is their local number. When you have a complaint, you will find it is difficult, if not impossible to find a human contact. These people are unethical and cleary don’t want their contact info readily available.

Default Snuggie Blanket

I tried to buy a Snuggie by phone. When I realized you were unable to talk to a human.
Started looking elsewhere for one. I would recommend that anyone who wants one go to Harriet Carter’s site.
Here you will be able to order one for 14.98 plus 4.98 shipping. Granted they are on back order till mid Jan. You can trust this site and return policy is good.

Default Can buy Snuggie elsewhere

Tried ordering Snuggie and ran into same problems.
After going thru buying it realized that they were charging for postage for two.
Used American Express Card and was able to call them so charge will not be put on bill.
Went to Harriet Carter's site and was able to order one there for 14.95 with 4.95 shipping.
I know the return policy is good here.

Thank you for the contact information. Before Xmas, I went on line to order just one, but like everyone else, I kept getting offers of more & more. I got so irritated that I logged off. Now today I receive a package containing 8 blankets & was billed $133.40. I am sure I never placed the order. I used the number you provided and was successful. I just needed to hit "O" for operator which was answered. I was then redirected to Snuggie's Customer Service. The wait was long but I was able to speak to a customer service rep who provided me with a number to use for my return along with the full address. I objected to needing to pay shipping and was told to enclose a receipt & the company would reimburse. Your quote really helped. Thanks.

Angry Snuggy Blankets

I am going through the same frustrating experience!
Last night, I ordered one set of blankets through the Net, having to go through all the offers with a big YES and a small No. I realized I had the wrong color so I started over. Minutes later, I received two email order confirmations with two Order Numbers for two burgandy blankets and two blue blankets. And there is an additional $10 each for shipping to Canada, which is not mentionned anywhere. I called the consumer service at 1-800-663-8166 to rectify the situation. I was referred to 1-800-566-2888, a number that's always busy with a final message saying to call later during the week. I called your number 203-269-0211 where a nervous receptionist kept saying that all she could do was to refer me to the 1-800-566-2888.
I don't want to pay $110.70 ($55.85 x 2) for an order that was supposed to cost $35.85 according to the ad. So I had my credit card blocked until I can speak to Snuggie.

I had a similar experience ordering online but had a little better luck. I mis-clicked the order a second set because the language at a glance seemed to make sense but then when another page with basically the same options showed up I read closer and realized what happened. Luckily I didn't go back and re-submit a second order. Of course they conveniently don't have a way to modify your order or re-confirm at that point.

The 888-663-8166 number in the confirmation email just rang once then disconnected. I did a google for Customer Service and found the 800-566-2888 number.

I actually had an ok time on the phone. Waited like 1 minute and got a human and explained I ordered 2 by mistake and she took one off (well at least she said she did) I have yet to see a bill or get the orders since that took place this morning so I will find out soon enough.
