Default How to Avoid Fake Placement Offers By Universities?

There are many colleges and universities trying to lure students into joining these universities by offering guaranteed jobs to most of the students. This is especially true with the Business Schools. However, what these students are unaware is the fact that most of these placements are made with the least of considerations about the actual caliber of the students. The students are made to appear for the placement interviews in big lots and almost all of the students clear these interviews. What appears on the surface is the fact that the college has an excellent faculty structure so that the college has a recorded 100% placement for its students.

Invariably there are a few facts that the students fail to know until they have already registered for the jobs:

• Most business schools include both the Indian as well as International placement packages in their average salaries by converting the dollar amounts of the international salaries to rupees. This is actually unfair, because they do not normalize the purchasing power parity in different countries during the conversion.
• Another important fact that the students are usually unaware about is that, most of the companies today have variable pay-out based on the performance of the candidates as well as the company. So, the salary package indicates the maximum salary that a candidate can draw. However, many business schools calculate average salary by including only the highest offers made to each student, regardless of whether those offers where accepted or not.
• A common malpractice that most schools and colleges follow is that, prior to the placements they often refer the students to some counselor who supposedly presents them with a long list of companies that they can apply for, while actually there is no surety as to whether the students would be considered by the respective companies or not.
