No, actually, I was never scammed. What I do is I copy and paste every scam letter I get and post it in this forum to make others aware that it is a scam. I'm sorry to hear that someone in your family was scammed by a letter like this. Did they get the situation resolved? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I received an email from Bradbury Crafts, though this "company" is based in London. I had been on thier website before, researching textiles, which is probably where they got my email address. The invitation is similar to the one posted above, but much more subtle. After looking into the company a bit, I thought it sounded legit. I'm in the middle of filing for bankruptcy because of thousands of dollars in medical bills, and I thought a little extra cash wouldn't hurt; you know, help me get back on my feet.
To make a long story short, the travelers checks and money orders were counterfeit, but this wasn't realized until after I had cashed them and sent the money to the designated place. The total is probably close to $5,000 that I was scammed. And this took place all in the last three weeks! My bank is trying to figure all this out, and I'm going to the police today to file charges of fraud against the company. I doubt it will do any good, but it's worth a try. If anyone has any advise, I'd appreciate it. Shannon |

I'm sorry to hear about what happened, especially since you are already having money issues. Contacting law enforcement was the right thing to do. Make sure you give them hard copies of the e-mails. Also, they need to know any information which could help to identify the scammers. I wish you the best of luck.
