DHGATE are a bunch of criminals...
You obviously had a bad experience, and you have the right to be angry at the seller. I will never defend a seller that rips off his customer. But you can't be angry at the website. DHgate doesn't control the transaction between you and the seller - that's up to you. But they do provide some protection for buyers, although just by reading your story, I can see that you did not follow the recommendations for safe trading that are posted on the site and throughout this thread as well. You did not research your seller properly and you did not use DHgate escrow. DHgate is a perfectly legit site to buy. You just bought from the wrong seller.

For the rest of you who use DHgate, use this guy as the example of what not to do. Make sure you check out the seller trust score so that you find a reliable seller. Make sure you use the DHgate escrow service, so the seller does not get paid unless you say OK. Don't approve the payment until you see the merchandise and you are satisfied. If you follow all these suggestions, you will have a much better experience.

Smile DHgate

First of all you cant get something real for nothing...This should be your first clue..I have spent several hundred on DHGAte, and i love it. i got more than what i paid for, and you really cant go around selling something as real when you didnt buy from the original maker or a legitimate distributor.

Ive never been ripped off by them , and for the above people, it thought it clearly stated that you should only do business thru them and to watch out for wester union stuff? maybe im wrong, but that sucks that happened. when i buy stuff theu dont release my payment until i have recieved and inspected my shipment..

Default DHGate: Scam?

This is what DHGate has on their website under payment options. So can people still be getting scammed? It seems to me that the buyer is protected.

DHgate's Escrow service is especially designed for online transaction. You, as a buyer, will pay the seller ONLY when you receive and satisfy with the item.
This value-added service is FREE and is available for all transactions on DHgate.

Smile About DHgate.com

I from startunion technology co., ltd. in China. DHgate.com is new b2b in this industry. DHgate will get money from buyer(add price from seller's price), because the buyer have to contact vender through DHgate.com, and DHgate.cm unallowed to leave any contact info between buyer and vender when mail. DHgate.com is not offical B2B in China. Just this company in Beijing. The buyer should be contact serious vender If you want to buy qualtiy goods.

Startunion technology co., ltd. Mr. Robert

Default dhgate fake but fun

Okay, if your trying to sell bags on ebay, you will be shut down quickly
if you buy from this site. They claim authenticity, but the wording is sketchy.
Chanel, LV, Coach, Prada, forget it. Great for your own personal wardrobe but not for resale.
Also only buy from powersellers with great ratings!

Found it very safe using DHgate via paypal account.Have purchased several items and been more than pleased.I dont buy to re-sell but for my own use.I dont expect the items to be genuine for the price I`m paying.£42 for Ping G10
3 and 5 golf woods.Thats for the two delivered from China. And they`re great.
Full set including bag delivered for £160.Being sold on e-bay for nearly £600.
Chanel handbags for £30 delivered and there good imitations. But thats all that they are."IMITATIONS".You get what you pay for.I`m well pleased with what i`ve purchased so far.Beware e-bay cuz thats where theyre being sold on.

Default DHGate stole my paintings

I was advised that someone saw on DHGate, images of paintings I was selling on ebay and on my blog. Although my name and copyright logo were on every image, DHGate was selling copies illegally. What can we do so far away? This isn't the first time...since I began selling online two yrs. ago, images of my paintings have been copied, enlarged, printed on canvas and painted over and sold as originals in galleries, etc. all over the world! What can one REALLY do?
Signed,
United States Artist
