Default YTB is in trouble.

YTB is in trouble. Check the web for YourTravelBiz (YTB) sued by Attorney General for being "gigantic pyramid scheme"

If anyone would like to know what else steered me to YTB, I would be glad to talk.

Have a great day and keep on traveling!
Jackson

Default WV another look

Eddie,

Your point is well taken if you did not get directed to learn how to build your business. Of course, since it is word of mouth business, the words you recieve might not always be the best direction. Would you like some better direction? In the networking business and particularly in travel, WorldVentures is the best thing going. Before you vacate, if you already have not, find out what some positive leadership can do for you. WV is rolling forward! You can contact me even if you might or won't be in my team!

You, like I have an interest in the travel business and building a business in that field. By being on this forum, you probably have a negative slant (right now) to what has occurred it the travel business but you are interested enough to care. You should be in the business. I have been involved or watching the networking travel business for years after a failed opportunity that was shut down. I knew that the time and the right opportunity would eventually be right. It is here!

Default World Ventures

I was very concerned about this company myself but I did all my research and it has panned out to be a great company. The health benifits and the travel packages are great in itself, but the truth is we are here to help you. Let us know where you are located we have sit downs all the time you can come to all over the world. Thanks for your time Chad

She may have a point, but before I give anyone $400 of my money, I'm doing to do my due diligence and ask some tough questions.
well I signed up for it and have to say it really works for those who can persuade a person. and yes it is a pyramid business .. If you know enough rich people who can throw $400 your way to start off then you can make it.. if not do not bother to sign up..

I had people make travel plans etc. However recruiting people under me was not going the way I was hoping. like you everyone was sceptic to pay $400.
Especially when the person who wants to sign up promises you to work for you and help you in a different ways.
Honestly Ihave not recieved help when I asked for information.
I end up quitting.. and when you quit they do not like that .. suddenly they want you to come after you to get out asap...(this might not be for everyones case.. but my leader was like that..) oh well I wish them the best...

I am glad I am away from it.. yes I know people quit their jobs to go into full time with worldventure...
something I was hoping for but did not happen.

My advise is if you get involved make sure your groupleader is there for you instead there for your $$$
One thing though their travel site is great and Ihad people booking their travel through me..
but sometimes they have found cheaper deals than worldventure..

Also ask to meet other members and see how they like their groupleader.. Because honestly if you get the great help at the beginning you will be successful. if not good luck!

People that dont succeed at WorldVentures, dont work! We cant change old habits.

Even if you dont succeed at the business, you will save 30-60% off the best online price on any of our DreamTrips. So, I urge you to do MORE research or miss out on a good thing!

not everyone that looked into worldventure travel page did not always find savings.. as a matter of fact some things were little bit higher... (this is based on what I was told through people used worldventure..)
I am starting to wonder if there is 2 different company called worldventure..

Default this is fun

I'm just in the investigative phase with WV. I've owned and operated a travel agency for over 25 years which I closed shortly after 9/11. Anyway I've read all the posts on here and all the opinions.

I've found one thing which has dumbfounded me.

If your going to post a comment and you want people to take your opinion seriously, why don't you take the time to SPELL correctly?

I have been with WorldVentures for 7 months. It is a good company that has alot going for it. They have received national recognition, including being featured by the reputable May 2008 "Succes from Home" magazine. They have 2 products that they sell and you do not have to be a rep to buy them. Their online travel search engine (meta power search) is exclusive to WorldVentures and it was featured in the Wall Street Journal 4 weeks ago. Booking on the WorldVentures website will almost consistently save you money by finding the best travel price and it will save you time (a 3 minute search vs going to a variety of travel sites to find the best price). They also have a great travel club called Dreamtrips. These are 4 to 5 star trips at wholesale prices. Worldventures has bulk buying power similar to a Sam's club. WorldVentures is currently registered in 48 states with their attorney generals, they have a well respected CEO (Mike Conway) who cofounded America West airlines and took that company to a billion in sales in 6 years. In addition, all the major travel vendors (MLT, Carnival, RCI, etc.) are coming to WorldVentures and partnering with them. Those of you truly serious about researching this company could start by talking to the attorney general in your state, by having your attorney contact the legal compliance department of WorldVenutres, by talking to people that are using the products and are actually with the company, vs reading all the internet comments from peolple you cannot verify. Anyone can get on these sites and write anything they want. If you goggle any good company out there (which I did), you will find negative comments. Some may have merit, most probably do not. When some people hear about a company that is building their business via word of mouth (network marketing), some automatically assume it is a pyramid. There are excellent network marketing companies with good products that are abiding by all the business laws and are running a fully compliant business. If one spent the time to do the research, they would find that WorldVentures is a solid company with great products.

First off, let me say that I do believe World Ventures is a reputable company.

However, I think your success will depend upon a) your own initiative and ability and b) your support network. Some people are better self-starters and good at convincing people to join things. For them, signing up people is much easier.

Others, particularly those new to selling and network marketing, need more help – particularly in the beginning. Solid support from their upline is very important.

I fell into the latter category and but didn’t have support from my upline. I got lost in the crowd and, eventually, came to realize I would not have my upline to help me. Because of that, I ultimately decided to leave the company and pursue something I was more passionate and knowledgeable about.

There are two different products. You can just take advantage of the travel packages and not the business building portion. However, for those who choose to do the networking side, the fastest way to do it is by utilizing your existing network of friends, business associates, etc. From that base you build your larger network.

My network of friends has always been small and somewhat eclectic. The people I knew were either turned off by the networking part or interested but not financially able to afford it. Since I hit a wall of resistance rather early during my membership, I needed the guidance/support of my upline to help me move through that. Additionally, a lot of it is the art of approaching people and basically making a sales pitch without making it look like a sales pitch. That takes training and support, particularly when you move out of your sphere of known people and start targeting strangers.

During my four or five months of membership I never heard from anybody in my upline. Part of the reason may be that the person who initially got me in the company quit almost immediately because she didn’t have time to pursue the business. I believe I was signed up directly under her and so that may have created a gap. The person who got her involved was someone I met but didn’t know. Additionally, he had another full time career and it was actually his nephew who was doing most of the work. Even though they were friendly toward me, I always got the impression that it was “outta sight, outta mind” as far as I was concerned.

I did attend one of WV's big sales meetings. Although I was skeptical, I was surprised to come out of it super pumped and ready to build my business. Later, I realized that, like lots of companies, they utilize NLP (aka Anthony Robbins) and other types of techniques to get people motivated. This is all valid but if you need guidance and if your upline isn’t there to support you, then that enthusiasm quickly wears off as the rejections begin to mount.

At the conference, I did witness groups that did have that successful group support. In fact, I sat near one very vocal group and had some short conversations with the leader. She was very involved in helping her network develop themselves. I witnessed her advising and offering help several times over the two day period. In fact, a few of her group’s members were given achievement awards or awards for reaching new sales goals.

I think that element had to have been there in my group because the young man who gave the presentation where I signed up was a high money earner in the company. But for some reason I just didn’t register on their radar. Following the conference, I never heard from anybody. Eventually I decided to pursue something else.

I recently received a voicemail message from the young man mentioned above, presumably to get me back into WV. That’s funny – because it’s the first time anybody from that network has contacted me since I signed up. It’s been a year since I quit. Needless to say, I’m not returning the call.

Last fall I went on to study hypnosis in a one-year training program in L.A.. I actually now have some of the skills I would have needed last year in order to build a successful network business. However, I’m more interested in building a private practice to help people with their issues and to motivate them for success in their lives than applying those skills to network marketing. Maybe I’ll change my mind at some point. But if I did, I don’t’ know if I’d go back to World Ventures.

If you can make it work, then I think that’s great. But if you aren’t sure of your skill or ability, then you need to be certain that the upline will be there for you and not going to take your money and move onto the next prospect.
