Hi Bill,
I have the Canadian Armed Forces as well as the OPP looking into this one, let me quess, his name is Sgt. John Fraley...just ask him for the VIN number of said vehicle, it won't come back as a vehical registered to him. I had his ads suspended as well.

Hi, new here myself. Found this thread during a google search of "Sgt John Fraley" as my fiance was inquiring about the 2003 Escalade which sounded too good to be true... I will post our email transcript if that would help.

------------

Our first contact was through the Kijiji website on Jan 5 requesting the size of the engine and whether it was 4 wheel or all wheel drive.

Hi,

Do you still have the vehicle? Is it in Hamilton or the surrounding area? I'd really like to have a look at it.

Thanks.

Latest reply from JF (jfraley011@yahoo.ca) to us, Thursday Jan 10
Hello again,

The car is in a warehouse of the shipping company, in Calgary, Alberta,
ready for delivery because I'm not in Canada for the moment and the pick it up option is not available.
There is nothing wrong with it ... I sell it at this price because i was sent with my unit for peace maintenance
in Barcelona, Spain, and i don't know for how long. About 250 members of the Canadian Forces are currently serving here.
They play a key role in the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
The transaction will be made under eBay's protection for our safety because i'm a verified member and
i have a purchase protection account of $ 20,000. The car will arrive to you with all the original documents,
including owner's manual, clear title, bill of sale on your name and if it won't match with my description,
you will have 5 days to return it and i will pay for the shipping back. So ...i will need your full name,
shipping address, and a phone #, to prepare the shipping and contact eBay to start this transaction.
They will give you further instructions on how to complete this deal.
reply soon ..
-----------

So, I am a skeptic and when something sounds too good to be true I am open minded but like to do my research. Is this a scam?

Thanks,
Cindy

Thanks Mercenary. I suspected something might be up...too much information offered, when all we asked was the size of the motor...

They seem to be getting better at their "game" all the time.

Luckily, we didn't get caught up in it - thanks to this forum.

Cheers! Cindy

Default Beware of car postings on Kijiji city sites

Watch out for ads advertising luxury cars at cheap prices from a John Frahey who claims he is with Canadian Forces. I'm so glad I googled this name and found this site and also warnings from other folks who have been in contact with him. Thought it was too good to be true.

When he sent his reply, I couldn't help but check into his story. I'm glad I found your forum. I have copied his email below. BTW, his pictures are from the fall...no snow.
