Default Come and get me Joel Griffing!

Please note – window4u IS JOEL GRIFFING head of WAM and I'd bet cloudwalker is too!!! What it is - a classic lie to Peter to pay Paul scam. What WAM (World Alliance of Mayors) and their subsidiaries (all the one’s Mr. Griffing has provided on this bulletin) convince you of, is that the money they will get for you is free and the purpose for the money you will receive is granted on a humanitarian, (goodhearted) level. Their slogan: ""Helping Others, by Helping Them, Help Others!" says it all. They ask in return that you donate a portion of the profits from your venture, (if any) to specific charities - ones that they are connected with already. Often times, people have been asked to deliver a letter of credit or some of their OWN money to get anything from them at all. They even offered to help a university to get a much needed wing added to their campus - and ultimately required a line/letter of credit from the university to “get things going” after months of stringing them along. WHY, WHY, WHY would anyone need a letter/line of credit for someone else to fund them? If you get the letter of credit, FUND IT YOURSELF – their using YOUR LINE OF CRDIT for OTHER things!!! There’s a suspicion that what they’re doing is some sort of banking pyramid scam which is illegal in the US. This seems to be the latest in “dream funding” scams across the board – get 15% of what’s needed or obtain a letter of credit and they’ll do the rest. FOLKS, IT’S ALL BULLSH*T!!!! Reading this board and learning that someone put in $6,000 seems like they paid it through the weblinks I'll mention below. Sorry folks, you can kiss it good-bye.
I heard of one group they had on the line for some NO STRINGS ATTACHED funding, (about $20 million) and after Griffing/WAM baited them for months, they asked the group (they were supposed to be helping) to raise/get $15 million for THEM. Griffing/WAM are a COMEDY ACT. Part of the skit is that he totes this black suitcase on rollers everywhere he goes. Some think it doubles as a walker, but what’s in it are all his bullshit documents to convince anyone who questions their validity – just in case. In the experiences of those we have interviewed, no one has received a penny from WAM, but did indeed deliver what was required from WAM in order to get their "dreams" funded. Additional information we have received is that they they’re collecting (or trying to collect) lines of credit/letters of credit from their victims in order to front their own facade - where your letter of credit triggers money to do OTHER things, not what you brought it to them to fund. The leaders of WAM have reaped the benefits of world travel, fine dining (at other people’s expense) and sit with many top CEO's and celebrities in the process. The saddest thing is that WAM often supports their position by taking the religious angle, (usually Christian) to add to the "wholesomeness" of their mission. That should be as big a red flag as any. I know of a few groups that have spent money on the two figure heads, Joel and Ardith Griffith by feeding them and including them on expensive $1,000.00 per-plate dinners that they have never paid for – let alone NEVER even cracked open their wallets to PRETEND to make a motion to pay for. They keep telling people "The money is on the way" and "Just waiting for The Patriot Act for it to clear..." Read the posts above people - NO ONE HAS RECEIVED A DIME!!! I personally have sat in on round-table discussions headed up by Mr. Griffing in both New York and Chicago as he pitches his WAM-SCAM to the people...and he does put on quite a performance. Wake up, people -- he's selling snake oil.

On one of their sites, (Hyperion Business Solutions Inc.) they ask for between $1,000 - $5,000 from applicants to register/apply. (I assume that's the $6 grand mentioned in another posting). If there's ANY validity to this, its probably using, (or collecting) various people's startup money (or line of credit if you get that far) to trigger money to come from the sources they claim to get money from, which are usually overseas. Confused? You're not alone. We have been tracking the “WAM-scam” and message boards like this one for several months, and from what we have learned from the 40+ sources we’ve interviewed, is that it presents well, but lacks any substance whatsoever. BE VERY, VERY CAUTIOUS! So, Mr. Griffing (or window4u) or whatever the f**k you want to be called on this site – I welcome a PUBLIC ping-pong match about your bogus bullsh*t anytime on ANY blog site. The house of cards is starting crumble and we suggest you retreat to whatever rock it is from under in which you crawled out from. Or even better, go back to that 3500 acre resort in Howie in the Hills, Fla you've been lying to everyone about buying. We know you bought one silly little condo there 5+ yrs ago for about $200k and only put $20,000 down on it. Are those poor people at the Mission Inn still buying into your bullshit about how you're going to "buy it all"? My favorite line you used in 2 of the ear benders I sat through was when you said, "I have more money than anyone" - Then why are you hitting people up for money??? $15Million would do it, right? Isn't that what you're trying to get from people or various groups so YOU can fund their dreams? You are nothing but a silly facilitator. A middleman that travels on other people's money in hopes that you can get a piece of the action by covering it up by "dumping into a 501c3 of your choice." One thing I will hand you sir, is that you have BALLS!

I welcome a response anytime! Happy Scamming Beeyotch!

Default Thanks for all of that information

Wow. Seems like we have a winner! I cannot believe the post above from espitz69. Any relation to Elliot Spitzer? ) Just Kidding. I'd love to see a ping-pong match but it appears Mr. Griffing has opted out of this forum. I am curious to know if there are other message boards with info from others about WAM and the "wam-scam" as it seems to be known as on this site. I still cannot believe there are any doubters out there. Well, I'll say this: If you have read these postings and get involved with them -- you're a dumb-ass. If you invest money in them after reading these postings -- you deserve to lose every cent. Happy trails.
Mobetta!

CRUMP asked on pg 2 do we know anyone scammed by them? YES, I WAS SCAMMED BY WAM....we are out personally over $23,547.04 due to the Wam-Scam. I should note that this amount does not include the $6,000 some people are claiming and we did not pay that. This is PERSONAL cash that we are out from jumping through hoops for Mr. Griffing and his horse shit facade. This isn't money we "spent" to do anything other than what WAM asked us to do to get the money from them. Then after we did EVERYTHING they asked, we were told, "You have done everything needed and all roadblocks have been removed for your funding. Just sit tight and wait for the money to clear due to Patriot Act. That should take 10-20 days." They missed 3 funding deadlines over 8 months and best of all, hit us (if you don't what US is, it is MY GROUP that was seeking funds from them) they hit us up for $15 Million dollars to make it "all come together". Where was this money supposedly tied up due to The Patriot Act? Need I say more? He's a lying sack of shit! The World Alliance of Mayors is a crock of shit! What they're doing is a scam! What they're selling is sand. What they stand for - well, they claim that they're Christians and will lie to your face and/or on the phone to keep you baited and hopeful. Sure sounds Christ-like to me. I even looked Mr. Griffing IN THE EYES and shook his pasty white hand and said, "Can you provide the funding if we do everything you require of us?" He said "YES!" Before I let go of that hairy white hand, I asked, "So, there's no second shoe to drop and you do NOT require any money from me or my group to complete this funding?" He smiled and said, "NO - I don't need your money. I have more money than you and the last thing I need is your money. Do what I've asked and within 30 days you will have your funding..." That was over 9 months ago. What else do you people need on this site to see that he is a total scam!? !?!?

Picture yourself breaking through, as you watch Ardith Skydiving! (there's a link, but apparently it's no longer active). Maybe she chickened out.

Default Looking for Updates

I am hoping for any further info that people would be willing to share, either in this thread, or off line. Send me a message. I am interested in ferreting out the truth on this scam. I have a sad story to tell, as well, but prefer to keep it offline, if you know what I mean.

The story pitched to me was that if you get a standby letter of credit or other type of "guarantee" from a funding source, that will serve as "due diligence" that the WAM will rely upon somehow (given that their staff is too small to due the due diligence themselves). Then they will hold the LOC in their strong-box for a year and a day in the event that the project turns out not to be as "humanitarian" as they were promised, in order to protect themselves and the tax deductible status of their donors. In turn, they will call upon their vast amounts of money to fund construction of your project, and after the year and a day, will tear up the LOC and gift to your non-profit corp. the entirety of the project in a tax free transaction.

When I commented that the process didn't make sense I was told that all my years in Corporate Finance had blinded me to the ways of humanitarian funding. All of my other questions were given answers that were of the non-specific, don't worry, be happy variety.

Sorry to unburden myself. Just looking for and shred of hope that this is for real.

Default Sack Up & Say it

Dude, tell your story! Don't be afraid or hide behind "private messages" - if you're afraid of Joel Griffing sending his goons after you, fear not -- he can't afford goons and that would be un-Christian like behavior for such a man that lives above reproach -- well, scratch that -- lying and deceiving people is un Christian-like and he's got no problems with that. So what, sack up man -- spill it!

Just a simple question (I have done the same before but is missing somehow). You have a project, you also have a loan. What do you need then WAM???????
Use common sence ........................ and the answer is that you don't need them.

I assume that this was not directed at me, even thoughit followed my posting. I have, and will continue to sack up on a daily basis. I am here simply looking for advice. And I thought I told my story somewhat succintly. I am helping a friend who is going down the garden path with WAM, and I have voiced suspiscions to him. He has more faith in people than I do. I was hoping to find someone who we could "both" talk to in order to convince him. I fear that the siren's song of unlimited free money is too strong for him to resist. Again, I would like to speak with someone about this. That is all.
