Medicare Fraud
Medicare fraud steals a great deal of money from the Medicare program every year. Most physicians, providers, and suppliers who serve people with Medicare provide high quality care to their patients and bill the program only for the payments they have earned. Unfortunately, there are still some individuals attempt to abuse or defraud Medicare by cheating the program (and in some cases the people with Medicare who are liable for co-payments) out of millions of dollars. Medicare customers end up paying for this fraud through higher premiums.
The goal of State and Federal Agencies such as, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Justice is to make sure Medicare only does business with physicians, providers, and suppliers who will provide people with Medicare with high quality services. If you think you have witnessed or been the victim of this type of fraud you should contact one of these agencies immediately. |
