Is There a Team National Scam?

Team National offers a kind of double whammy to would participants. First it offers discounts on certain items as a benefit of membership (which can cost as much as $2,000). Second it offers the chance to make income recruiting others in a classic Multi Level Marketing scheme.

Team National’s discounts apply to many items that can be bought online. This isn’t technically an online scam; the discounts and rebates they offer are real. But the chance of getting a real return on investment for most participants is quite small, especially given the infrequency of the purchase of big-ticket items like furniture or automobiles.

As for the “Pyramid Scheme” aspect of the alledged Team National scam, it works like any other legal MLM plan. Participants are encouraged to solicit memberships from friends, family and co-workers (which is bound to make the would-be salesman or woman popular). So much of the commission for signing new customers gets kicked up the ladder that profit margins are typically small.
