Default Macbook Scammed

Hi everyone,

As next year I am planning to go to University I responded to an add on Kijiji for a macbook that was $700.00. Long story short, it's been over 2 weeks and the last I heard from him was on Thursday of last week, He said that the laptop hadn't been shipped yet, but was in the "Warehouse" and was suposed to be sent the following day (Friday March 14). I tried to email him on Saturday but got an email saying my message couldn't be delivered.

I paid him via paypal. His name on his email was listed as Blake Macdonald, but on his paypal it was Bryan. His email was scoony_21@hotmail.com. He said he lived in Regina and needed the money to move to St. Johns, but after buying it, he soon informed me that they were a "Mac dealing company", hence the warehouse.
The post was listed under the Halifax section of Kijiji.

Upon searching google I also found this link:
ROCK BAND COLLECTORS EDT. BNIB : Toronto - GTA eClassifieds 4U

in which he's selling rock band from an address in Hamilton from the phone number 9057650016 and same email.

I don't know if it's too soon to assume i've been duped, but I'm scared to wait too long. As you can probably assume i'm going to need that money, or the laptop, for university so any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you,
John

Default Recently received email

Earlier today I sent him an email stating that I would go to the authorities if he did not answer any of my emails by tuesday at midnight.

He just responded with :

" ***** there is no need to panick we have lost shipping address and emails forcing us to reopen packages that should have been sent weeks ago this is unfornate and we hope to have to have it shipped once we finish dealing with the problem calm down we still have your item and plan to execute through with it thanks for the patience b"

Once again, I'm not sure what this is an indicator of, but just thought that I should post it.

Thank you,
John

Cool

Dear John

Welcome to this forum. I believe that you must not loose time. Send a complain to paypal and ask refund for non delivery goods and when you will receice their answer report it also to authorities.

PS Keep all mails with full headers and make hardcopies and payment receipt, you will need them to make the report.

Indeed, the above guy is correct. If you get any inkling that something is a scam withdraw immediately. It'll be worth the negative feedback rather than risk losing that money.

Sometimes it is worth it to be a bit paranoid.

Since when to be careful is equal to be paranoid?

Default good news

Good news everyone, I did get my money back.

Paypal didn't get it all for me though, they only got me about 140 dollars.
I had to go to my credit card to get the rest of it back.

Thanks for all of your advice!

JJ
