I recieve about 4 or 5 scam letters a day. They all very. That's alot of scam letters if you think about it. I'm sure i'm not the only one who recieves that many but people are still getting scammed or the scammers would not do it anymore. And it also seems like they have been getting a bit creative too. I guess that means that the internet scam stuff will probably never come to an end as long as there is going to be internet. It's ashame really. I know personally I am sick of checking my inbox everyday and half of it being scam letters or just plain crap. I don't know. Just needed to vent.

I get about 60 scam letters a day (because my email address is posted in certain spam-catching places on purpose) - if you post your email on the internet - in a forum or somewhere else, you're going to get spam/scam emails. The advice is - get a throw-away free email addy to sign up (yahoo, hotmail etc), post, advertise, whatever, NEVER use your real life info or email addy. Any unsolicited email is spam/scam. Keep your virus software up to date, make sure you have a firewall, use Firefox rather than Explorer, or even better, get Linux. Then you'll be comparatively safe.

I like using Mozilla over Explorer any way. It's much safer. In a way, I actually don't mind getting the scam letters sometimes b/c I get to post them on this site so when some other unsuspecting person gets the same e-mail and they do a search on any of the content in the e-mail, this forum will come up and that means I just might have saved someone from alot of heartache.
