How To prevent computer hackers?

AS we are moving towards better technology and globalization ,it seems identity theft still remains a big question mark before every security vendor and security professional.
Year 2008 was full of identity theft, full of internet scam .phishing , spyware attacks, malware attack ,hackers ramping up and targeting and shaping identity information theft. Still a Big alarming problem and get ,set & go for cyber criminals in 2009 and many more..
