The purpose of 419legal.org is as an information source where people can share their experiences relating to internet related spam and fraud.
This should be self explanatory. The purpose of the site is for people to share their experiences and information regarding scams. Not as a promotional tool and source of free advertising for the membership. Those advertising links that you see throughout the site are advertisers paying this site for the right to advertise here or in other words they are paid advertisers.

One thing that I've noticed since I've been here and something that seems to separate this site from many of the other sites out there that call themselves scam reporting sites. Is the absence of self promoters pitching their products in the threads here. This is a good thing! I've been on other scam reporting sites where an unfortunate victim of a scam will post detailing how they were scammed usually on some fraudulant business opportunity only to have some predator pounce on them promoting another get rich quick scam to them.

All services on 419legal are offered at no costs to visitors. Income is generated by means of advertisements placed on the website, which assists us in covering various hosting costs associated with making this service available.
I gather from this that all advertising done here is paid advertising for the benefit of the site. As a privately owned site they certainly aren't obligated to allow their members free advertising space. I see this as a good thing. If anyone wonders where I'm coming from with this I happen to be an Admin on several different forum sites where we have been battling spammers and fraudsters for quite some time.
