I received an e-mail letter on 7/6/07 from a National Claims Office for the Irish National Lottery. "I WON" $750,000.00(GBP)pounds (whatever that means). Yep, my e-mail address was selected out of 21,000 addresses. Of course, we all know that nothing is free, especially money. However, I was so curious (knowing it wasn't real) I still called the contact number and spoke to an Andy Cole (Europe somewhere). He claims my money will be delivered within 7 days. Right! Anyway, hopefully, I didn't open up myself for them to get anymore information from me. He hasn't asked yet, and I would never give them my SS# etc. He did know my name and other basic info about me in the e-mail. Now, I am now curious. Since I DID NOT give him my SS# or credit card info, do you think they still can steal from me? Has anyone else out there experienced this type of Lottery Letter? How do I post it and or warn others about it |

I would no longer have any communications with this person. If they keep calling or e-mailing, ignore them. They will get the hint. Unfortunately, don't be surprised if you receive a ton more scam letters now. Once someone responds to the scam letter, they keep your e-mail address and give it to other scammers. Of course, even if you don't answer, you are still likely to get them, but you have an greater chance or receiving more than usual.
