Dear lejardamaine
Welcome to 419Legal As you saw similar emails in the posts of this thread, no doubt this is a typical scam email. DON’T reply to this with your personal info and just delete it. Awareriskinc |

I've probably received more of these letters than anyone that uses the internet. Thank goodness, I realize all are spam or some time of illegal and/or inappropriate action and never, ever give any details. I do, however, "have fun" with them, writing back such things that I have been waiting for this next one so I may investigate it thoroughly in Investigations Department with Interpol by which I am employed or whatever comes to mind.
I did not realize, until just now, this was sending messages to other spam sites that they have a "possible pigeon." In any event, it is wise to just ignore any and all such claims that you have won something, anything. You will not receiver anything for free. There are no giveaways, only takeaways. Never, ever respond to them in a serious manner. Just keep that in mind and you'll do just fine. I also find it enjoyable to use whatever names they are using in a different form when sending messages back. For those that have problems distinguishing though, just kindly delete them prior to reading or opening and you'll never have to worry. Open only e-mails from return addresses that you know of and are familiar with. Duane Rosencrans |

I am new to this site but after recieving a new suspicious email one of a number of attempted scams I have received in recent weeks I have started to wonder if anyone is doing anything about this. This particular email is very badly worded and of doesnt use my name. How can I qualify for a cash grant I have not even applied for and furthermore why would a charity be handing out money?
So while doing some research I found this forum. Can anyone tell me is there any sort of international body chasing these e-mail fruadsters up? I very much doubt many originate from the UK or the US |

@Wango, welcome to 419legal, you are right, a genuine charity would not be handing out money to strangers.

There is a international site that fights these scammers in the link below. Anti-Fraud International Another good site that is actively fighting scammers as well is ScamBaiting at it's finest - Scam Baiting for Fun and Justice theScamBaiter.com However not many law groups can do much as the scammers operate across international boundaries and use false id and information so it is hard to catch them, But efforts are being made.
