Question uk scam - jen

i got the same message.

i replied, indicating the caution the i felt i must excercise.

They wrote back citing a Chinese Proverb of missing the boat, and that I should do what I needed to do but that I would forfeit this money without providing the information the requested.

did you do the same?

What I would like to do is prank them or something. That's funny that they quoted the chinese proverb. Like that's gonna make you want to participate and give them your info . If I were you, I would actually respond with something like: "I'm not a fool.." or something else and maybe if everyone does it, they will get the hint. It probably will not stop them but who knows. At least they know people are on to them and they are not completely safe. What I usually do is just copy and paste it and put it on this site so if anyone who gets the same letter and does a search on the company, bank name or any other content, this site will come up and they will know it is fraud. I'm very glad that you know that it's fraud and you are just one more person who will not get hurt .

Jen

Replying that you know it's a scam won't do anything, because there are lots of people who reply thinking it's real.

That is true, unfortunately there are plenty of people out there who don't get 2 - 5 scam letters a day like I get and have never received one before. I don't understand how I can get them everyday and there are others out there who may have only recieved a few.

Very bad luck I guess. I only get about 1 every 2 days (still tons more than most people). It just depends on how available your email address is on web pages and stuff.
