UK Lottery Awards E-mail (Just wondering if its true)
First things first, Hello everyone my name is Sheany and I am new to this. This is my story as follows. I am wondering if anyone could explain to me if this is for real or just a scam.
I received a e-mail on Jan.19.2008 Ref: I was a winner on a UK Lottery online contest. The letter was sent from a Mrs Dianne Thompson informing me to get hold of a Mr Fred Martins at the following address: cgclaimsdept08@hotmail.co.uk. I did so and received one from Mr Martins for me to e-mail a Mr Larry Vincent at info@onlinenationbandsuk.com. I did so and received a e-mail asking which method i wish to do to receive my winnings.The bank where Mr Larry Vincent works as Accounts Director is the Nationwide Bank of England. Before answering anymore e-mails to this gentleman i was wondering if there is a way to see if this is legit or just another scam.By the way I have not responded to the last e-mail with info reference any bank accounts.Could you please help me in this situation.Because if its true the winnings would come in very handy.Thank-you for your help.Have a wonderful week.

Dear Sheany
Welcome to this forum. The answer is already given by you, posting this report here. Even you do not believe that something so obvious as scam, could be true. You never enter to such lottery, which does not exist but only in the mind of the scam sender of this mail. Use "search" tool of this forum to find many similar mails posted here, some of them may be from the same sender.

UKL winnings
Thank you very much for your answer.The problem still is that I gave basic info on me but didn't answer in which way i was going to collect winnings.are they going to be able to get anything through using that info.so basically you are informing me not to continue to reply to thus.in my research there is such a bank on such the street but the only thing i couldn't prove was the persons name.have a wonderful week and if i come across anymore e-mails of suspicion i will write it on this webb site.take care.god bless

Of cource you must not have any other communication with the scam. It is extremelly dangerous. Read in main page articles about "dangers from 419 Nigerian scams".
As for your personal info I hope that you have not send to the scam copy of your ID. If not, they will stop contacting in a few days, but if you have send copy of your ID, make hardcopies of all mails and report it to local police as "identity theft".

Is 1000% scam. Simply use "search" tool to search the name ""Dianne Thompson"" and you will see yourself that there are already 9 other posts from members who received the same lottery scam mail.

UK National Lottery scam
Just take the so called winning lottery numbers that were supposedly drawn for you and go to the real UK lottery and submit the numbers to see if they won. I can tell you they will not be winners. I have received 2 emails from some jerk that is after me to submit personal information. I took the numbers and went to the real lottery site and checked them, and there were actually 2 numbers but this is a scam. This scammer was lucky to hit 2 numbers. These are theives out to get personal information. Be careful not to go to their sites because they might be downloading key-tracking software to your computer in order to watch your every move and hope you will provide something they can use against you. I checked out the real site and they will tell you that they will never disclose a monetary amount to the individual and if you have wom over 50,000 whatever kind of money they use there (Use to be pounds), you have to personally go to England and they will give you a check, not cash. You will know if you won a lottery because you will have bought a ticket. If you have not bought a ticket, you have won nothing but a serious pain in the rear from identity theft for even contacting these creeps.
