Default Elderly taken advantage of

I just heard from a Welsh friend of mine in the UK that his mum got taken to the cleaners up in Flintshire in an Internet Lottery Scam. Here's a link to a Guardian story about the problem they're having with this sort of thing.

http://money.guardian.co.uk/news_/st...016494,00.html

More and more elderly people are on-line these days, some of whom may not be as savy as they should be in regard to scammers (not that you have to be old to get burned by a con-artist, as I know from painful personal experience). My own mother just bought a computer (for email and such), and I've bent over backward to try to alert her of possible scams. Has anybody else had any bad experiences in this vein?

Default Thats Rotten

This is excactly what I mean about these scammers. They pray on the people who have the hardest time fighting back! That is the nature of the beast.

My Mom can barely work the remote so that is one problem she doesn't have lol!

But seriously that is a real problem and I will be sure to tell any senior person who goes online to Watch Out! I do that anyway with most people since my husband and I "got burned", but I guess I never thought about older people who have computers like many now do.

Good luck with your Mom Popeye!

Default you don't have to be old!

Ok I didn't send them the money but they have my name and address and cell number! And it got me so angry that I couldn't think of any thing else but to get back to them! So I sent emails to every intstitute I could think of (also to the FBI)!
I hope these scammers rott in jail 4 ever!
Say Hi to your mum for me and tell her I was very close to sending the money but I got lucky because he called me and had a really strange nigerian (absolutely not british) accent and that got me thinking!

Greetings from Slovenia
