I do not need any telephone communication in this regard due to my deteriorating health and because of the presence of my husband relatives around me. I have recieved this email in my inbox. I responded to this email asking more questions, but that is it (I didnt give up any of my personal information). I am not quite sure how this hoax works, since she only asks for address, fax, number, etc. Can someone explain this?

This quote actually comes from someone at another forum. I thought they put it best so I decided to use this: "Well you can bet that's a scam. The forms are pretty basic. Cancer victims will write you and tell you they have 90 days to live. They have a form of cancer that has "defiled" all forms of treatment. They usually have no friends or family, and they want to leave their money to charity, and they want you to make that dream possible for them. Sorry, but they are scammers, not cancer victims. They are never cancer victims.
Is the email from a poor widow or orphan, maybe living in a refugee camp? Did their husband/father leave millions of dollars in a security company which the widow/orphan needs your help to get? Was he the former president of an African country? Was he a former government minister in an African country? Was he a former gold mine owner, cocoa plantation owner, or rich businessman? Well, sorry, but the person sending you the email is not a widow or orphan. It's just a scammer. It's always a scammer. Scammers love to play on your sympathies. Think how you would feel about a real cancer victim or widow or orphan. They want you to feel like that for them. But they are just scammers and they deserve none of your sympathy. Disdain, loathing: that they deserve." There are a couple of things these scammers do: 1) They can use info you give them to not only steal your identity, but also to find other ways to scam you. Once you answer back to a scam letter they sent, they will keep your e-mail address and give it to other scammers, which means you will get a ton more scam letters. 2) They will scam you out of money. It usually involves what is called an advance fee fraud. They will ask you for a "fee" to deliver your money either into your bank account or to send it to you in check. Sometimes, they will send you a fraudulent check, ask you to cash it and keep some of the money, but to return a portion to them or a third party. There are many different ways they can scam you. It's just best not to reply. There is a section in this forum that explains other types of scams and even this type a little further.

i just read what u post about susana cole, im so ignorant about these scams...
i actually reply on her email and gave my number and address but thats all. im so stupid... i feel sorry for my self... what will i do? do u think they'll do identity theft on me?
