National Honor Roll: Scam?
For some time now high school kids have been receiving letters in the mail congratulating them for their academic achievements and suggesting that honoring them for their academic achievements might be a path to a college scholarship. This letter from the National Honor Roll promises to notify those colleges. But is this a legitimate honor or a scheme to get your money?

Many parents of students who have not particularly excelled in school say that grades don't matter to the National Honor Roll, but money does. For a fee the student in question get a book with his or her name or picture in the book that the National Honor Roll, a private company registered in New York, sells.

While the practices of the National Honor Roll are not illegal, many argue that the National Honor Roll is a waste of money because paying to get a student’s name in the book doesn't make them an honor student and won't help them get into college.
