Know about Phishing Scams

Phishing has been designed to steal valuable personal data of a victim for example passwords, account data, credit card numbers and other information. In this scam, scammers usually send an email that appear to come from valid financial or e-Commerce institution that you trust, such as your bank or a credit card company and either request to fill a form with your personal details or ask you visit a website that also ask you for your personal details to obtain what ever they offer. Remember! These emails sound quite legitimate. Hence, you should always be alert and never give away you essential personal details.

Second Mortgage Scam : Here’s how it works. A buyer sees a house on the market for sale and contacts the real estate agent that’s selling the house. The buyer then explains to the seller that he will be able to pay for the house after he has taken out a mortgage.

Gift Card Scam : The Gift Card scam works like this: thieves copy numbers from gift cards hanging on store racks. After the cards are purchased and activated they phone an 800 number to check on balances for card numbers they've copied. When they come across an activated card, they use the card numbers to buy merchandise on-line.
