I've only just recently signed up however i became very dedicated to fighting online fraud after going through two motor vehicle scams in our family, which totalled about 10,000 GBP in losses. With a little research i managed to catch out two stolen identity female imposters and only in the past few days i alerted someone to a major scam which is reported here on your boards, saving them about 3000.I am in the process of trying to nail this fraudster as we speak!
So you can see that i am very passionate about helping.I can appreciate that other countries have hardships but i can't stand the thought of good people's hard earned cash getting into the hands of criminals! If there's no volunteer work then i'd be more than happy to include a banner or some links over at our own site.I can't post a link but we have in excess of 350k registered members.

Thankyou.

Default Welcome Goretex.

@Goretex Welcome to 419legal, Thank you for your posts,
On this forum we try to help actual and potential victims of scams by educating them about the various types of scams on the internet.

With posting copies of scam emails, this will help people see and hopefully understand about the scams that are going around.

What you are doing is generally called scambaiting, and it is a good thing, many of us started out baiting by ourselves,
However this can be done in a safer and more effective way by working with experienced people, A few sites do train people to do this.

The best one in my opinion is listed below in my signature line.

At the moment it looks like you could be baiting in an unsafe way, and while the desire to cause damage to the scammers is a good goal, if it places you in real danger then it needs to be corrected.

For obvious security reasons I will not explain too much in a public forum, but you can send me a private message (top right) and I will assist you as much as I can.

Thanks for the welcome and your explanation of the different termanology used in the 419.I understand now that the 'all guns blazing' approach may prove that i have good intention but that i'm overlooking the potential danger i may be putting myself in by scambaiting criminals and criminal organisations.I guess i have a lot to learn and this is fine.Once i get my post count up i'll be able to have more hands on interaction.
I tried to access my private messages but had difficulty,is the mailbox locked until 25? It was in regard to my reply in the car fraud thread. In hindsight im glad you never posted it,perhaps i need to look at a different approach with some team help.Im sure you'll appreciate time is of the essence on this one and again you're correct.I don't want to make so much of this public discussion.Look forward to being of assistance in the future.

Default Pm's being worked on.

@Goretex, Thanks for your reply.
I understand the pm issue is being looked at, so we may have to wait for it to be modified. Meanwhile I will send you an email, and enclose the contents of my pm to you, thank you.

Dear 419 Legal Administrator,

I'd like to help if possible in any case- or translating, sending you scam and fraud mails we got and get as I'm fed up with all these hooligans!!! Though I'm a new member, I don't want others to get in the same situation we are in. Ridiculous, but despite I looked carefully around many times, these cheasers can get so close to you that even if you learnt law, foreign trade, university etc they can make a big fool of you then we can pay back the loans for years! They must be caught! I have a lot of names eg. from Sponsor Loterij, from others as well, so if we could find them at least... ?

First post.
I am an I/T professional, and a former administrator of a now defunct sports message board.
I'll be more than happy to help out.

This is a quality message board.

Default Volunteer Work

Hello,
I am very interested in becoming a volunteer. I was approached by a scammer in May of 2009. Since that time, I have became active in various support groups, have attended various seminars in regard to Internet Safety and Internet Love Scams.
Thank you,
Marlene1105
